Burgundy, Green and White

10:16am. I've just woken up to a very foggy morning in the Irish countryside and I'm ready for a day out.

Already I have my plan set out for the day; I have to buy a birthday present for one of my friends, I'm visiting the bank and I'll be grabbing a bite to eat with my drama group. So today, I've chosen this outfit:

A white shirt from Gap.
A pair of burgundy colored soft jeans courtesy of River Island's A/W collection 2012.
My deep green brogues from Clarks' stylish footwear collection.
A bag I bought in TK Maxx for 47euro.
A nylon scarf from my mother's closet.
Barry M nail varnish.
A pink bow from Forever21.
My watch from Tommy Hilfiger, about 4 y/o.

I adore wearing blouses and I love mixing it up a little by adding a broach or a small scarf to wrap around the collar. It creates elegance, sophistication whilst also being flirty. My number one style advice is to channel your inner Audrey Hepburn or Hedy Lamarr and accentuate your fashion style with a piece from the past, be it your mother's sweater from the 1980's (I recently stole my mother's baby blue knit piece) or your hair dolled up a la Veronica Lake, a remnant of the past can both make your style edgier and chique.

My Clark's brogues are brilliant. I recently bought them whilst on vacation in Kerry with my family (go, the scenery is stunning) and they're so comfy! Albeit the heel is quite clunky, it doesn't beat the fact that the materials of the body of the shoe are unfathomable. It keeps my toes warm and the water out, all the while looking incredibly stylish. They're a rich, dark green - my favorite color and also one of the main trends for the A/W season.

River Island never seems to fail. Anything I've bought from there has stuck with me through and through. I've had these burgundy colored trousers for two years now and they still feel like brand new. The soft suede-like texture is to-die-for and it's like I'm wearing a blanket wrapped around my legs. Perfect for A/W.

My emerald green bag is a life-saver. Spacious, minimalist and mature, it's my favorite accessory at the moment, or rather, it is my indisputable organiser. Two separate compartments keep my stuff intact. My iPad and my gadgets in one side and my beauty essentials in the other. As I said, it's got loads of space and is perfect for anything. (except well... camping)

So that's my outfit for the day. I intend to have fun and I hope you do too!

Le dea-ghuí,

mode muse #1

12:33pm. I can smell apple crumble being made in our kitchen. I am still in love with Emma Stone's fashion.
Emma Stone is one of my favorite actresses. Funny, electric and heartwarming, she's been a fashion muse of mine since Easy A. Her style is one of simple elegance, with daring colors and gorgeous patterns. On top of her endless talent, her hair is effortlessly beautiful.

So here are just a few of my favorite Emma Stone outfits.

Dawning a plunging green tulle dress at the Venice International Festival 2014

Yellow Versace at the Amazing Spider-Man 2 premiere

The two-tone trend done right at the Met Gala

Dark and mysterious on the ASPM2 tour

Chique monochrome at the 2012 MTV movie awards

Rocking the Greek goddess look

My personal fave; smart and sophisticated bejeweled dress

Proving that casual can be stylish; blue washed dungarees

Introduction

9:57pm, I sit in my room nestled between my blanket and laptop, about to begin my blogging adventure.

This is my little fashion blog. Whenever my friends and I visit a bookstore or a newsagent, I find myself veering towards the fashion magazines; Vogue, W, ELLE and Fashion. I had wanted to start a fashion blog for a long time now and it took a little advice from my mom to push me to do it;

Mom: "What's that?"
Me: "A fashion blog"
Mom: "Oh that's nice"
Me: "Do you think I'd be good at it?"
Mom: "Well you do like coats."

And thus, 'effervescent wonder' was born. I write about fashion, beauty and books and talk a little bit about good ol' Irish banter.

I'm Phoebe, I'm sixteen years old and living in Ireland.
